I have a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis. I like the look of the stock aluminum wheels but wanted to get a more aggressive look. Thiught about aftermarket then through the help of the info off this forum I found a set of 2017 Mustang Gt 18" wheels local for 200$ with tires.

Installed and they fit perfectly. Slightly lower offset so the wheel sits more flush with the body line and gives it a good aggressive stance without needed a real low profile tire and taking away the natural look the Mercury already has.

Does anyone know if Mach 1 wheels from the 2003 and 2004 SN95 Mach 1 Mustang will fit 2003+ Crown Vics?

Yes, they are lower offset and the edge will sit just outside the fender up front and fit the rear perfect.

WOW - the rear really looks great!! What size are those wheels? Front & rear all the same size? What size tires? All the same, front & rear?

I wonder if the back of the mounting flange could be machined down a bit to move the front wheels into the fenders a little??? hhmmmmmmmm............

...and THANKS for the reply!

17x8 wheels, +30 offset and 255/50-17 tires all around

I don't believe the mounting flange is thick enough to machine down and still have a mounting flange to use

Suggest you look to 18" wheels, 255/45 18. The 255/50-17 i have on my caprices. They are practically extinct. Two nitto's, a riken and a hankook is all that's left. Maybe some oddball brands.

Yeah, I was leaning towards 18's anyhow (18x8 or 9 F, 18x10 R. So it's looking like I might have to bite the bullet and go for the Forgelines.

I still have yet to see any box cars with mustang wheels. Only steel wheels or gangster wheels. Hub size or bs issue?

Backspacing issue. You'll need about a 2" spacer to get late-model Mustang wheels to fit anything earlier than '03.

i see. would it still be an issue if i converted to 98-02 spindles/hubs/brakes?
i do know the older cars had such a rediculously long hub.
i was just told to get those spindles for front brakes. getting them this weekend from yard. not sure if they will pooch the wheel out more or less either. google has nothing for the swap

98-02 track width is the same as your box up front, but the rear axle is a little wider. Maybe 1/2 inch? Won't help with the backspacing issue. You'll still need spacers even with the big brakes.

So I just recenly bought a 2000 CV lx and would like to upgrade the wheels that came with it. I'm a huge fan of how the FR500 wheels (with spacer) look on the the 98-02 CV, but I am trying to avoid using spacers.

My other options for wheels would be the Charger/Challanger wheels. (Scat Pack/hellcat specifically) After doing some reaseach though and fiding out the offset to the non widebody is an the 20-22ish mm area I realized I would again have to run spacers. After looking a little more and into coming across the widebody wheels I notice that their offset seem to be closer to what the 98-02 came with stock, 98-02 (-6mm) and WB Charger (-2.5mm). So now this has me thinking, the specific wheels I am looking at are 20x11 with an offset of -2.5mm.

So going off of the information I've read on here I "should" be able to put these wheels on (in the rear at least) and still have them be tucked into the wheel well correct?
