No, in fact I'm still running the baseline "safety tune" from Marty at Mo's Speedshop because I just CANNOT get the software to work with my computer. Very little help, as well.

I'm 100% positive of that, too.

I cannot get the initial fuel trim data to transfer to my computer (or any computer, for that matter. I tried three different ones.).

I installed the SCT software on all of them, and it never worked.
I've tried again over the years, and what usually happens is that the hand-held unit "updates" for about an hour, then shuts down.

I'm trying it again as I type, and for the last thirty minutes it's been saying that it's connecting to the WIFI...

And I'm still waiting. (This message sent over WIFI, for the record.)

At this point, I should have just paid to get it tuned locally; it would have been the same price, either way, and I would have gotten a dyno tune with some RWHP numbers.
The only reason I didn't is because the guy had a two-week back-log, and this is my daily driver.

Ok so I bought the adapter plates but it turns out that they only have one set of holes drilled. They don't have the second set drilled and tapped for the 4.6 manifold. I contacted the eBay seller and they said it was a manufacturing error and to return it. Great. They also don't have any correctly manufactured ones in stock.

Any ideas what I can do now? Seems they're unavailable everywhere.

These are the ones I bought

Any members got adapter plates they wanna sell?

I tried mocking them up against the heads and intake and I don't think there's enough room to drill all the holes required, mostly around the crossover ports. Damn. There's gotta be something else out there

1) Those adapters look like they're for NPI heads.
2) they list them at .5" thick, which would mean a pretty sharp transition to the intake port

You may have dodged a bullet.

For the record, I used the Professional Products spacers, and they are about 1" thick.

Yeah I wanted to buy the professional products adapter plates, but they've been discontinued.

Not sure what to do now about an intake.

I'm kind of considering abandoning the 5.4 swap and just putting the ported pi heads and stage 1 cams on my 4.6. I already have them, might as well use them

Just took a closer look and yes, they are NPI on one side and pi on the other. Yet they're listed as 4.6 to 5.4 adapters. Seriously.

Sigh

maybe it worth a shop to call him at that point and ask about ETA on the intake .

+1 I'm going to call him tomorrow.

There's also a guy Shelby Mike that makes intake adapters and he shows a custom option...it's mostly 4v and coyote stuff, but if he will do a 2v adapter plate, that would be fantastic. It is $500usd for plates though. Eek.

Turns out Shelby Mike doesn't make 2v stuff. facepalm

Its settled then. I just bought a mark 8 torque converter and my ported 5.4 heads are going on my existing 4.6,along with the trick flow stage 1 cams.

Not as much torque, but with headers, mzt and a tune I'm hoping for 300rwhp, but who knows.
