I have a '96 Interceptor. It still runs good but it is starting to have problems. After something broke in the rear end I bought another car and now want to sell the Crown Vic, but people ask what I want for it. I have no idea what to tell them.
Besides something broken in the differential, it has some body damage where someone side-swiped me (I used the insurance money for something else), an exhaust leak (actually the flange is loose. Previous owners replaced the studs with bolts and welded them on: I couldn't get them all off to replace so one side of one flange is a little loose), a small leak in the fuel tank, 3 window regulators need replacing, needs a front main seal, and needs the oxygen sensors replaced (which I have but never installed).
The reason there are so many fairly minor issues is that I just haven't had time to work on it. I bought a car because I didn't have time to fix the old one.
Dad thinks I should just fix the Vic and sell it as a running car, but that would mean having it around longer and actually working on it.
I just wonder what the experts here think about it.

I'm sorry, I should have been more direct in my previous reply. You should spend not one dime and expend not one minute of energy on this car.
It is worth nothing, take it straight to the junkyard, recycling center. I got $275 for mine.
If you get someone, anyone to give you any amount of money and they haul it away, take it and live with the knowledge that you're raping them.

I just wonder what the experts here think about it. Just consider that you probably won't find another body style like that, so unless you really have no connection or love for the car, it might be worth holding on to. & to say it's worth "nothing" is simply absurd. The converters alone are worth a couple hundred ... ask me how I know. I'd say start at $750 and let them talk you down a few hundred.

‘86 5.0L oxford white with police package (pre Interceptor model designation). 32XX original miles (not a typo). Never in service. All original. Runs and drives well, but a/c needs service. Any estimates on value?

I have a 2011 white with 77K miles, clean, I paid 4K for. I am looking for a 2009-2011 SAP package model in red/grey/black exterior.
Anyone know why the prices shot up high, compared to 7 months ago?

Most used car prices have gone up, especially good ones. An exception might be a POS KIA.

Anyone know why the prices shot up high, compared to 7 months ago? What you've got is worth about $6k in the current market if cosmetically clean. What you're looking for is very hard to find and probably will fetch the same. The last few non-white P7B SAP's with low miles that I remember seeing went for at least that at auction. I drove by a local used car lot called Firehouse Sales that has bought P71's in the past at auction that I also bid on. They're still open but their inventory is perhaps 1/5th of normal. It looks like they simply can't get stock.

I have an '87 Mercury Colony Park GS. All coolant gaskets were replaced and timing chain + water pump were done at the same time. Transmission fluid and filter were replaced in 2016, estimate 3,000mi/yr since then, I really don't drive it much. A/C was converted a while back and still functions. All power windows/locks work, rear window is fine, tailgate does the things in both directions. True mileage unknown at the odometer is around 89,000ish (it's been a little while since I checked). New brake lines, rubber hoses, calipers, and rear drum hardware done within the last 2 years. Headlights were upgraded with H4 low beams and H1 high beams, correct relay set up is installed, all plugs, no splicing. Alternator was upgraded with an SN95 3G alternator, therefore the wiring upgrade was done and not with plugs for obvious reasons, no kit with plugs. Newer monotube shocks all around, new springs as well. There is a new driveshaft as the old one was bent slightly according to the drive train shop. Has newer tires and currently mounted are Lincoln LSC wheels from a fox platform model. I do have the original 15" steelies and hubcaps, although the hubcaps are loose and wobble and low speeds. The previous owner claims to have replaced all window motors and they did a fuel pump, although incorrectly as it is noisy, but it does work fine. I've done a few roadtrips from chicago to st louis without issues. A new starter was installed in June. There is a dashboard cover I assume to cover up a cracked dash, though I haven't dared remove it as it's been good enough. I don't want to list locally for fear of destruction derby guys. It's not showroom, but it's not a complete rust bucket either. It appears to have been owned by an older person who didn't raise a family with it. general thoughts on FB marketplace as opposed to CL? I have a car on both right now, so far a ton of low ballers on facebook and absolutely nothing on craigslist.

For longroof,
You need to advertise that wagon to hipsters in areas where hipsters are concentrated I think they’re going to be the ones who will salivate over it. San Francisco San Jose Portland Seattle Los Angeles San Diego maybe Brooklyn. Try those markets, right buyer would probably pay to have it shipped or travel to get it.
