Wow sounds like some badass marauders. Shame they got beat into the ground on patrol duty.

These were a cool fleet of Marauders. They were probably beat on a lot more than their regular P71s

Highway patrol/state police cars, especially ones that are take homes generally don't get beat on as hard as city pool cars.

Maybe so, but back when Vics were the predominant Police vehicle, everyone I saw was driven in an aggressive manner in every situation except when pacing cars on the hwy. Not gunning it from every stop, but close!

The CVPI does have excellent throttle response, it just begs for more throttle from low speed. If it's not your car, and you're not paying for gas, you gun it every chance you get.

Most also don't have the mods those Marauders had or were used for the same purpose. It's a bit surprising that not many of them have popped up. Either with someone knowing they got one or wondering why their Marauder has signs of police equipment being installed at some point.

We have several departments around Seattle with take home vehicles. When some city or county council member questions the financial cost they get reminded that take home vehicles typically last 2-3 times longer than multi shift use cars. Not only are they driven less, but tend to be taken care of better when an officer considers it their car.
Side benefit is police presence. Not only in their driveway, but going to and from their station. More LE on the road.

Yeah, the best mod I did to the Marauder was removing his tune that was on it when I bought it...

Maybe we haven't seen any for sale because they burned up or broke down?

Around 2010 or so I used to see a Dark Toreador Red one working accidents along a main road (not an interstate). I'd seen some parked at the trooper station as well. I may have even taken pictures of those, but they're long lost.

That use to be the case with us. But now we’re keeping them longer and longer so even the take homes are getting beat. I just now passed my 2015 Tahoe down to a younger guy and now have a new 2021. Boom.
