I wonder if the powers that be have considered the negative impression this POTM sends to first time visitors as they log in and look at a single fuzzy photo of MGM trunk on the launch page.

Might they not be thinking, "What's this place about? It sure doesn't inspire confidence or merit my attention."

And they darn sure won't get the joke... if a joke is meant to be had.

Perhaps the site might be better off with no POTM if a certain standard isn't met. They don't give Pulitzers or Nobels every year if they don't think anyone's earned it.
