I just received my Mercury Marauder factory subwoofer enclosure along with factory amp attached to it with the wire connector. My car is what’s on the signature. How can I go about hooking it up?

I'm not sure if the subwoofer started on the 2003, when I retrofitted mine my car had the connector prewired behind the back seat so I just plugged it in and grounded it, I also had an after market radio which you will need because a standard radio won't work.
So look behind the back seat if it could be possible to have the wiring prerun.

Turns out I do have that lucky subwoofer plug and the “premium” audio harness prewire connections on my 98 Vic. However, I’ll need to order that Ford premium audio harness from Amazon

If your aftermarket radio has subwofer output try plug those RCA cables there, if not plug them in the rear RCA set. From my kit I plugged them in the rear RCA and I notice that when I change the balance to the left the subwoofer works and when I change the balance to the right the woofer don't work.

I noticed some click pop noises going as I change different EQ settings on my head unit. Will I need this 12V to 5V "Stepdown" wire from AXXESS?

So i followed this guy advice did the wiring as instructed but my subwoofer speaker isn't working frown i test lighted the ground connection to the subwoofer speaker and it light up but the thicker connector, the power doesn't.

I connected that spliced in RCA cable into the "sub out" connection on the back of head unit could that be why its not working?

We tested speakers with a flashlight battery. Should get a crackle when you touch the terminals.

I put in a new tang band subwoofer speaker and still doesn't work! I'm really out of options!

My 2003 factory wiring manual calls out the 6-pin connector on the subwoofer as follows:

Pin 1 - TX Signal
Pin 2 - RX signal
Pin 3 - Subwoofer mute
Pin 4 - Ground
Pin 5 - Not Unused
Pin 6 = Voltage supplied at all times

All of these circuits are fed directly from the subwoofer connector on the back of the head unit and the manual doesn't state whether the Mute function needs a ground or a voltage.

I’ll take a picture of my wire tomorrow and post it. It’s for my 1998 Ford CV LX HPP. I’m going to be returning the MM factory subwoofer as I found anther MM factory subwoofer that finally have the bracket.

Good question. I’ll be taking a picture of my radio wiring and along with the subwoofer connector.
