Hello,

I previously posted about fuel pump pressure, and replaced the pump, which fixed the hard start problem.

It turns out the pump had been previously replaced in 2009 with a Ford pump.

I was paranoid about stripping the bolt holes, so I bought an inch pound torque wrench, and torqued them first to 20, then 55, then 89 inch pounds.

One of the bolt holes gave out before I got to 89. I backed it out, and tried again, and it continues to weaken.

Does anyone have any creative ideas on how to remedy this?

Thank you.

...and it's done!

The original bolt was M6.

I went to a 1/4-20, taped my tap just shy of hole depth so I wouldn't go too far, and then doubled up on the washer to keep the bolt from galling against the unthreaded portion.

I took them all to 60 inch pounds, and I'll see how it does.

Not certain the 89 in-lb figure was correct since it caused one to strip. Don't want to risk that again.

Thank you!
