HEADLINE - If there is a way to display pictures directly in the post from Google Drive (as opposed to a link), someone please tell me!

Hello everyone! I'd like to share some pictures of my new vehicle (purchased June 10).

It's a 2009 CVPI with the Street Appearance Package. I found it in Wisconsin, outside of Milwaukee. This car is a unicorn - 63,000 miles and 192 hours. And to boot, the car came from Washington DC - it was owned by the Federal Government and used by the FBI. When the salesperson first told me that, I wasn't sure if I believed it - but the car still had the DC DMV registration card, listing the car with the FBI - and the VIN matched.

So far, the only modifications have been swapping in a CVPI grille, and removing the Crown Victoria and Flex Fuel badges from the trunk lid and replacing them with Police Interceptor, FBI, and American Flag decals, respectively. I also stripped and repainted the bottom inside door seams on three doors. The next mods are brakes (Power Stop Z23?) and billet rear control arms and watts linkage. I also plan to change the transmission pan and differential covers to ones with drain plugs.

Please feel free to send any recommendations my way! Thanks in advance for all your help!

Dear Jack,

That's a beautiful SAP and in my market right now such a low mileage car would fetch about $6k or more if you left the original badging and grille on it. I think you slightly diminish its value by "copping" it out with black grill and PI badge. Does it have a cloth floor and armrest bench seat?

Next, I've found that with Crownvic.net's archaic bulletin board format the only image hosting service that works well with no hassle is Imgur.com. Better to bite the bullet and use it than struggle with google drive links. We can see them if we click on them, but you want them to show directly.

Thirdly, you are definitely, unquestionably, prosecute-ably impersonating law enforcement with the addition of that FBI sticker on the back of your vehicle. That's a felony and you will be pulled over and cuffed the minute local police scan you civilian plate and match it up to non law enforcement showing that sticker. How would they do that? No real FBI admin car would have civilian Ohio plates, it would have federal exec plates. No undercover FBI car would have that sticker on the back. So by virtue of the fact that your sticker is 2 feet from your civilian license plate, you are screaming to any cop behind you "I AM A WHACKER IMITATING LAW ENFORCEMENT". Then it becomes up to the cop on how rough he'll treat you. Get him on a one donut morning and you're in county jail, car impounded, trying to make bail.

(Not to mention the fact that crownvic.net detests any talk of "whackerism" (the imitation of LE Crownvics) on its pages.)

Badging as law enforcement, is the WORST form of LEO imitiation, it's worse than having red and blue lights on the car, worse than having "Call 911" on the car, worse than driving a black and white (which is illegal in some states) worse than having the word police still on the car.

Get it off yesterday, not tomorrow, and not even today. I would not drive it one meter, nor even have it parked in my driveway with that sticker affixed.

Clean looking factory paint and body! Easiest mod is to round out the intake spacer that sits between the throttle body and intake plenum. Throttle response is much improved.

Holy crap, THAT escalated quickly! But I surely appreciate the information! I'll take that sticker off NOW. Has anyone gotten in similar trouble for the Police Interceptor badge? Even though the car is technically a P71, since it was ordered with SAP the badge was not originally there. Just Crown Victoria on the left panel and Flex Fuel on the right.

The grille and rear setup I have right now is experimental. I screwed up painting that grille and plan to replace it with one that has at least some chrome, if not all chrome. I don't like the one it came with (civilian chrome) because I think it's too plain and the honeycomb grille allows more airflow, at least it looks like it does. Plus the grille that came on the car has a crack in the lower left corner, not super visible unless you're right up on it, but I figure it's just a matter of time until the chrome starts to chip off.

The seats are civilian cloth and the floors are black carpet.

The pi badge is fine, they all have them and as the name of a car its okay.

Keep all your grilles as they are so cheap, why not. You can buy a $35 UNPAINTED grill on the internet in the style of the chrome grille, which will make it much easier to paint glossy white or black for a matching look, if that's what you like. I know guys who swap their grilles like their underwear.

Based on what you're saying, it's a full "detective" package. Were you to resell it, that's the way you'd want to tout it, Detective, SAP, FBI car.

That alone gets you an extra grand. I'm thinking $7 to $8k with the right marketing.

So the piece that's directly on top of the intake? And remove all material that blocks the airflow? Is there a post on here that goes into detail on a TBW car (if that even makes a difference)?

TB spacer. Remove the comb structures, top and bottom.

Nice looking SAP. I'd do what everybody else recommends and remove those stickers. It's borderline whacker and distasteful to me. Again, I like the chrome grille and standard Vic badge

They are to improve the laminar flow of the air.
They are not an obstruction, and removing them will actually hurt Performance (though not by a noticeable amount).

The throttle body opens slowly, at the top and bottom, leaving the middle blocked. The fins help guide the air and remove turbulence, ensuring air reaches all of the cylinders evenly.

The FBI sticker is long gone. I kept the original badges (both came off with no damage), so I can put them back on any time. I'm also going to order the CVPI-style chrome grille; IMHO it's the best of both worlds. The civilian grille has always looked "lumpy" to me.

Smart of you to remove that sticker.
I removed those TB spacer fins on my first vic and it didn't make any difference. Haven't bothered with them since.
My favorite free and even easier panther mod is to pull the snorkel out of the front of the airbox. It's possible it would intake slightly warmer air but I'm convinced the main purpose of that 5" long tube is noise reduction. Without it the P71 induction system really gulps, almost drones or sounds like a cow mooing at some rpm.
