Wanted to show off my work on my 2008 crown vic P71. I've had the car for at least 5 years, but it started off it's life for the police department in Washington, IN. I bought the car with around 160K miles from the 3rd owner. I put another 80k miles on the car in it's stock P71 form, but I've been wanting to lift it and make an off road cruiser out of it for a couple of years. Finally decided to bite the bullet and do it, and it turned out even better than I expected to be completely honest!! I used a 3" Donk lift kit (lift a brand), and lifted the body 2" off the frame with generic spacers. I've re-done every component of the front and rear suspension, as it was all worn out. I even replaced all 4 springs. I actually converted it over to civilian suspension to soften it up a bit given the tires I would be using. Replaced all front control arms, tie rods, and strut assemblies. Also replaced the rear springs, used the lift a brand adjustable rear trailing arms, and F150 shocks. The tires are Falken Wildpeak AT3, E range, 32"x10.5". The wheels are actually for the tuner crowd, AVID-1 17x9, +35mm offset used with a 3/16" or 1/4" spacer (cant remember which one). Installed 4.30 gears with a Eaton True-Trac diff. Had to trim the rear of the front fenders and inner splash shield, and trimmed the rear bumper behind the rear tires. I ended up finding a flea bay off road jeep bumper that I made work and added a 13k winch that sits just behind the grille. I used a luggage rack off of a 1st generation chrysler pacifica (SUV style) that fits our roofs pretty well. Added a roof basket to carry the full size spare tire. I installed LED light bars on all 4 sides of the roof, with a curved one on the front. The rear light bar is wired to a switch, and to the reverse lights (diode protected). The side LED's are wired together, and the front one is wired separately. I added a small LED light bar to the front grille guard, wired to the bright lights. Converted all the exterior and interior bulbs to LED's. Also installed carpet (rubber mat was worn out), and tan leather seats from a 08 Town Car. I added heated seat panels too! Did some stereo work and added a backup camera. Put in a ebay center console (cup holders, yay!!) and added my CB radio. Then I got it aligned, as best they could.

I'm sure I did some other stuff too, but I can't remember it all, lol. Overall, it's a very nice ride, drives great. I did have to remove the front sway bar because leaving it in with the suspension lift wipes out the ABS sensor on the back of the front hubs during extreme flex. I wouldn't be able to auto cross the thing, but other than than, I don't really notice much difference.

Anyway, I figured I would share my build and some of the details. I did as much research as I could before I started, but most people that do this don't share a lot of details. So I'm hoping this post helps anyone that is interested in doing this to their CV. It really wasn't that hard to do, just can't be afraid of doing some cutting, but it's pretty minimal (and totally worth it!!). Took me about 3 months off and on to get it all done. Let me know what you guys think!!
