Looking for further upgrade / mod ideas. I've already done:
  • 3.55 rear axle swap
  • dual exhaust
  • P71 airbox
  • BBK throttle body
  • Trick-Flow intake plenum
  • aluminum driveshaft
  • Marty tune
  • stiffer rear springs
  • rear sway bar
I live in NY, so any other mods/upgrades would need to be able to pass a NY inspection. Any ideas help!

My car has pretty much the same mods.I have come to the realization that any significant gains from hear on out will be expensive. I have long tube headers for mine but am trying to decide if I should put them on and retune or go whole hog and port the heads and do cams also.
ADTR has the supercharger kit as well.By the time it is all said and done after paying labor they are both more than I want to spend.

Porting the heads(even without cams)should net a nice gain.Throw a nitrous kit on there for a little extra oomph.

Agree w/TheCableGuy...J-mod will make a noticeable improvement in shift timing and firmness, not to mention increased longevity of the transmission for virtually no money.

I've thought about the jmod, but (1) I'm not sure whether it's as beneficial to the 4R75E as it is to earlier versions like the 4R70W and (2) when I got the Marty tune, I originally had the shift firmness set to 7 but I preferred the stock shift since 7 kicked a bit too aggressively for a daily driver. If the jmod meant the trans would shift quicker without kicking like it did with the tune, I might consider it

Some mild cams might be fun, but not super sure how much that would be worth power wise

Here is my take:

I like to go all out or just keep things stock. If I were to do a high performance build I would buy a set of Trick flow heads and call it a day. Look it up, various builds guys are putting out 400 ponies N/A.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.motortr...ar-engines/amp/

As far as the transmission, all panthers regardless of year need to do a Jmod (and installation of Sonnax overdrive pin kit). This is the concept of an actual Ford powertrain engineer!

What everyone needs to remember is that the factory separator plate is thin and the 2-3 accumulator that moves up and down creates hairline cracks on the thin factory separator plate that can cause pressure leaks and will eventually burn up your clutches.

Also the jmod can be drilled from mild to wild. If you leave the springs in and just install the Superior Tuff plate as is that will be fine for any year panther and your transmission will be protected from premature failure. I got 88grandmarq jmod kit and had him drill the Tuff plate to the max.

https://superiortransmission.com/product/superior-k092/

Lastly raising line pressure on a 4r70w via tune isn't really a good idea. You can actually damage your transmission that way unless you built it up to handle that increased pressure. The jmod is a roundabout way of speeding up the shifts due to enlargement of the holes but not increased pressure.

I'm not the expert at this so 88grandmarq or others feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

For now, I'm toying with the idea of MHS stage 2 cams, a higher stall torque converter, and a jmod. May end up taking a road trip to Mo's at some point for it. Not sure whether I want to do heads, but I'm sure the upgrade itch will eventually get to me, lol. Any other supporting mods I'd need to consider?
