Long story short , I know once you do the big brake up grade on a 97 you cant use the 15 inches rims anymore.

My question is , can I get away with spacer to move the wheel out of the way of the caliper or the caliper will still rub on the rim anyways ?

From what I recall, the 15" rims do not flare out so won't clear unless you add some ridiculous sized spacer and the wheels end up sticking way out the sides. In the box world people wanting to keep their turbine wheels usually wins out over doing the big brake swap.
