Need some help identifying this driveshaft and confirming it is a legit MMC.

The company selling it said there is no Alcoa stamp on it, but he did send me the photos below, I asked if there are any other identifying marks, and am awaiting a response.

Any help is appreciated.

That looks way too nice/ clean/ new to be a real MMC driveshaft.

The real ones should have five lines painted on them (I think), and they look like they're twenty years old.

Edit: That thing is a fake, I'm sure of it. I will bet any amount of money in your wallet right now that it is fake.

Agreed.

How much are they asking?

They’re asking $500.

The lack of known identification marks was suspicious to me too. A friend directed me to the original Ford TSB which clearly lists the identification striping. And every bit of information I found regarding real MMC driveshafts indicated there should be something more than just a weird little sticker.

The rep for the company selling it was a nice enough guy, but I wasn’t comfortable it was what he was claiming it to be. I passed.
