Does anyone know which companies currently are reliable to purchase from or have repair the one from my vehicle. It is a 2008 p71 without traction control. Thank you.

I have to get one for my 2011, probably going to end up getting one from car part, only because of the price. I have been driving it without ABS all summer though.

Rockauto shows none for 2011, most of the Ford dealers are around $500.

There are at least 8 self serve junk yards within one hour drive. ABS module with 90 day warranty is about $100. Of course, you would have to live here.

I just posted on the thread I made last month or whenever, I found a rebuilder. So I will take the plunge and order one from this guy over the weekend, if it works out, I will let you know, he's charging half of what a NOS one is running at the moment.

I couldn't find a nos though i'm not sure i'd want one for what they cost. I did just find a rebuilder today you can send yours and they do the repair kit on it. Or buy one and send yours then get a refund for your core from modulerepair. I saw on here from 2vmodular saying after I think 2001 you not only lose abs. But also front/rear proportioning as it's now done using EBD instead of external mechanical valves like before. I do mostly city driving though just one bad panic stop and i'd regret not having it fixed. It's getting like seattle here rain wise and winter is usually pretty slick also.

That's the one I found. And he has like 600 positive feedback on eBay too. I emailed him tonight and he responded within 30 minutes.

And I did get my as-built data pulled from

https://www.motorcraftservice.com/AsBuilt

So theoretically if you have an OBD-II dongle/connector and FORSCAN you can program the new one without the dealer/IDS help...I THINK.

I'm getting mine put over this weekend. Along with a new timing cover gasket and undercoating can't remember the brand but it's similar to Krown and fluid film. May also have do a trans pan drop and filter change. As I'd thought the oil leak I noticed awhile ago would be at my expense. Not thinking it could be from the new timing cover until dye proved it. Will let you know if this does the job for my abs.

Consider ebay. Yeah, there will be some headache involved with unknown sellers but ebay buyer protection is robust and will protect you in case of defective part and uncooperative seller. IIRC, you can file a claim within 90 days from date of sale. Paypal claim can be filed 180 days post sale. Ebay almost always sides with the buyer and forces seller to give refund. This is a de facto warranty.

So far so good I've had it in since Monday morning and it seems to stop great, no lights on anymore.

Did you buy from the one I posted or a different seller? I still need to do mine, all I did was apply a liberal coating of electrical tape to the instrument panel...lol

You can buy from any ebay seller. Just make sure he claims it is 100% functional. If it does not work, simply open a return case and ebay will side with you. Ebay will even force the seller to pay for return shipping. It is no risk to you and a lot cheaper. Plus, you don't have to deal with core deposit non-sense.

EDIT ADD: Paying by CC through Paypal adds a couple of more layers or protection. IIRC, ebay claim period is 90 days. Paypal is 180 days. That is de factor warranty. If module lasts that long, it is likely good.

That's what I will do, he has several thousand positive feedback as well if I remember correctly.
