Hi all, my name is Carm and I have had my first CVPI for about 5 years now (dad signed her over to me at the beginning of this year) and I'm just getting to the point of being fully comfortable with her and wanting to put time and money into her. She was my dad's 4th 03CVPI and I would like to keep her as pristine as possible. She is a 2003 all-white CVPI with only 85K miles! She used to be a detective's car and was fully decommissioned by the person we bought her from (the person who bought her from the police auction).

I'm here to learn everything I can about these beautiful cars so that I can keep her in great shape for hopefully years and years to come. I would appreciate any tips or info that beginners can really benefit from. Also any tools or fluids I should keep on hand? I keep some transmission fluid and oil and windshield fluid handy and my dad just gave me two bottles of antifreeze so we're good with those so far. Thank you all for your help!

Welcome. You're in the right place. Everything that can be done to (or goes wrong with) these cars has been covered here. VOLUMES of information here on every topic. The challenge for you will be to learn how to effectively search it and find what you need while sorting through the stuff that's misleading or inaccurate.

Thank you, and yes that is the challenging task. I’ve been using this site for a while now trying to search for things, my dad is actually the one who told me to come here if I ever have problems or questions haha. But I finally decided to create a log in and post. I like what I’ve seen of the community so far! If you don’t mind me asking, where can I find info on headlights and the wiring that goes with them? I’m looking to maybe upgrade the harness (I think) to try to get more power to them, they’re so incredibly dull even with the Sylvania Silverstar Ultras..

Ah, I've got family down St. Clairsville, Adena, Cadiz, etc. so I'm semi-familiar with the area...

Welcome. If you intend on performing relatively serious mods or even maintenance to your own CV, I'd recommend snagging both the factory wiring diagrams and shop manual. You could start with just one and get the other later on if need be. Here is a link to a 2003 CV/GMQ wiring diagram manual:

Good luck
