I remember Ford sold a limited number of replicas through dealerships. https://www.hotrodhotline.com/content/fa...no#.Yat3A8o8JvI

That stripe was available on the Pinto, too. Somehow it wasn't quite as cool.

I recall seeing a couple in my youth. I even remember seeing a green Torino with that stripe. Can't speak to whether it was factory or not.

It was interesting how they applied that stripe at the factory. They actually painted the whole car white first, then put a mask over the stripe area and painted the rest of the body red. I guess that way they didn't have to worry about red bleeding through the white. Totally makes sense. How did you know that, Moby?

I can't recall the name of the show, but it was a "Doctor & Hospital" themed show my wife used to binge-watch. The perils of binge watching.

I read it in an article somewhere, likely around the time the movie came out.

The paint shop is where the paint shop is on the assembly line. The mask was a big template that fit over the top of the car.

The Ford Nationals at Carlisle, PA has/had a specific class for those. IIRC in past years they would have 6-12 show up.

Normally, those S&H Torinos look super cheesy to me. That one is pretty awesome, though.
