Nice man,Seems the Coyote swap may be the Future for us.Im currently building a 2v Forged engine and I can agree it will be the last one I do since it’s my 2nd,I built the first one so might have screwed up on Clearance somewhere,Goodluck and will be watching out for Progress.

Motor is back out for some additional work. Hoping to get the car back together again sometime this winter when it cools off and I have some extra time lol.

Fair enough. Considering the swap myself

I'm pitching my hat into the ring for more info. How did you plan on getting it tuned, and are you retaining the VCT? And out of curiosity, what hurdles did you encounter when mounting the engine/accessories?

Ford sells a coyote control pack which is essentially a standalone ECU for the engine. I'll be retaining the VCT, really no reason for me to delete it. I have a local tuner that i've known for many years and he's going to dyno tune it once the car is back together again. The coyote is roughly the same physical size as the 4.6 so the motor COULD drop right in using the OEM engine mounts but I used a set of solid/poly mounts from outcastautoworks.com

Really the only thing I haven't worked out yet is how i'll add A/C (I removed A/C with a previous engine swap and regret it lol). That hopefully shouldn't take me more than a few hours of brain power but it's not currently that high on my priority list.

Awesome! Thank you for the info. I knew size-wise they were similar, and was curious about the accessory layout and what troubles may be encountered.
The VCT was also interesting, because I know the Panthers don't have it, and I wasn't sure about how Ford's standalone would interface with the gauges. This seems like a promising project, I'm definitely watching to learn for my dream build down the road.

I can’t comment on the stock gauges as I ripped mine out years ago and went with all custom gauges so it’s nice and simple for me to hook them all up. Since the control pack is a standalone ECU, the stock one has nothing to do with engine control and mine is completely removed.

Ari, have you had much time to work on the project? I've been curious about how it's progressing.

I'm interested in this as well. May do the swap soon. I'm getting too old to put it off any longer. Getting to an age where I'm tempted to sell the Vic, buy a Jag and call it good.

You will never call it "good" if you buy a Jag, or any other European car.
Just flush your money down the toilet, or better yet, send it to me.

Looking forward to an update. Since this started, I've put a set of 3.73 gears in my car, upgraded the stock stereo with backup camera, fresh coaxial speakers, and I've done a front suspension rebuild. Was thinking about exhaust and cams, but have to cool my jets on that if I decide to do a 5.0 swap.

Often the case with European cars here is maintenance can just annihilate you. Owning one in europe is not quite so bad. Where parts and mechanics are easier to find familiar with them. However here the likelihood of that is much lower and more expensive when found. Much like keeping up a US car over there would be.

Hey guys! Sorry for going MIA for so long, I’ve had a busy few years. I have an 18 month old son now and I’ve become a business owner. This all takes up plenty of my time haha.

The motor is actually currently OUT of the car. I had some cylinder head issues and I FINALLY just found a new set of heads a few weeks ago. Those heads along with the rest of the motor are at L&M Race Engines in Pennsylvania. They’ll be porting the heads and I’m going with a set of L&M’s intake and exhaust cams which should be fun especially when I throw a supercharger on this engine. We’ll see what the turn around time on the engine is! I’ll try to update ASAP!
