Marauder Door Handles

I know this is an old subject but I couldn't locate anyone who has installed the Marauder door handles in my search. Has anyone installed these door handles (not PI handles)? When I inquired about them at the dealer's parts dept., I was told that they may not come black and may have to be repainted. Wondered if they come gloss black and not just primed? Also, when I inquired, the cost was $121 each, petty expensive.

That's what I thought; $480 for a set of door handles is ridiculous. I tried placing the 3M tape on them but it's very difficult to get the right angles and for it to lay flat. Though the tape works well on the lights and chrome trim. I guess painting is an option but not for me.

I tried the 3M tape on the door handles this afternoon, which is about the 3rd time I tried, but I just can't get the tape to fit right. I do have the 3M tape on the tail lights and side window chrome and that came out real nice. But the door handles are just impossible for me to get it right.

I seem to recall that they just dropped the chromed bezel from the '04 LX Sport, just like they dropped the body-color mirror caps. Now they're just black plastic like the grab.
On the upside, the plastic is easier to paint body color because there's less prep work involved.
