Thats why I like the 2k release cable inside the trunk I wonder if the latches are changable to older units...

I could turn on the little light I wired in and get a screwdriver out of my toolbox and out i go.

I'm sure you could put the cable on your existing latch. When my mother gets home with her '01 TC, I'll have to go take a look and compare the latches.
