Any help whould be appreciated
And I thought about the chip but I don't want to put in 93 octane

For the Marauder airbox and 80mm MAF you NEED chip; an 04 computer WOULD NOT work in your '98.

Get Superchips for harder shifts, and speed limiter issue. And/or a chip custom burned for your needs. Try dennis Reinhart.

If I can get a custom burned chip, could I get it so I don't have to run 93 octane?
That is the biggest factor to me is the gas. BTW why won't the 04 computer work on my 98? Is the box different or would I have to get the PI heads for it to run correctly?

You can get a chip burned to whatever specifications you want. If you do a search, there is a LOT of information on doing the airbox switch and a LOT of information on different chips and so forth. Maybe that would help.

Thats what I plan on doing, I don't have the money for the parts let alone a custom chip right now So it will be some time until I get this. Besides upgrading my exhaust to SLP's Loudmouth setup is more Important than the airbox, 80mm maf, and a chip

You have to contact the company that you want to get the chip from and tell them you want it run on 87 octane, then they would burn a chip that changes your timing to run on 87 octane.
Basicly, just contact the company, like Reinhart(http://www.reinhartautomotive.com/performancechips.ivnu), and tell him what you want from the chip.
SLP makes exhaust for Crown Vics?

If he just wants firmer shifts and speed limiter increase, P71 computer would be a MUCH CHEAPER option.
Marauder airbox kit wouldnt work, he'd need a chip.
I dont know if a P71 computer is compatible with digidash.

It doesn't remove the speed limited, tho, does it?? Maybe one of those doohickies that plugs into the OBD2 port would help with that. .

You aught to search on driveshft before removing the speed limiter.
The speed it limited to protect the driveshaft and if you don't do anthing there, you may qualify for the olympics.

Speed limiters on civvy vics is about 112mph. This is because of the driveshaft.
Police vics have a speed limiter of 135 (+/-) BUT, they have the "police" driveshaft that can handle the resonance/vibrations of those higher speeds (IIRC)
So yes, he will be able to go faster, WHY! but he may also pole-(driveshaft)-vault his car.

I thought that there was a crossmember that prevented the front of the driveshaft from falling down. At least that's how it is on my '93 GM. This would allow the back to fall, but not the front. Am I correct on this?

You voted for the top speed limiter before you voted against it. You dont want to get close to the top speed but want the car to go faster and want to beat your buddy's S10. (street racing? I would assume, because you won't get close to 103 or 112mph drag racing)

he probably only has a 3.27 rear end, steel shaft. I would at least put a regular aluminum shaft on it to run the 130 dept.

Close Colonel, Just a matter of bragging rights , besides I don't plan on running the car faster than 120, if I did I wouldn't know how fast I was going. How fast are the Panthers properly tuned with a supercharger kit in the 1/4?
