Is anyone or know anyone that is an independent Crown Vic mechanic in the Birmingham Metro area. I'm looking for a repair person to do some minor repairs and maintenance. I'd prefer an expert doing side work for cash. email alan@james.name

I don't know of anyone in the Birmingham metro area. If the repairs and maintenance are minor, I would be glad to stop by when I'm going by there (about once a month) and either do it or do it and show you how. May save you a little $$$.

Alan, I hate to say this but you would be safer doing what you can yourself. You can get a repair CD-ROM on EBay for about ten bucks. A good HONEST mechanic is a gamble

So you went from an IT guy to a car salesman; that's like going from being a juvenile delinquent to being a convicted felon!

lol, yeah. Amazing, isn't it? Really, I hadn't planned on leaving my IT job. I was the specialist for the high school in the local school system, and as you may or may not have heard, Alabama school systems are on a very tight budget this year. So, at the end of last year, I was told that I would not be able to stay due to proration. Two other people besides me lost their jobs, as well. I had given them 5 years of faithful service, and a lot of long, long hours with the typical education crappy salary. Go figure. But, when a door closes, another opens. I have sold cars here and there as a weekend hobby for a while now, going to the occasional auction, etc. After my engagement with the school system ended, I called up a friend of mine who owns a dealership. He had been badgering me for years to come to work for him, so I finally did. I couldn't be more pleased. Happy holidays!
