Okay, I spoke with the Texas Rangers ticket office. They are going to give us a great price on group tickets! We'll be sitting on the lower level next to the left or right fielder. These tickets normally sell for $27.50 each, but they're going to sell them to us for less than half price at $13.50 each. I chose the best tickets I could get at the lowest price in order to make it more affordable for everyone.

I am going to PM everyone who has said they want to come. I am asking that you PayPal me ASAP so I can buy the tickets and get our seats locked in. I would appreciate it if everyone could send me $15.00 per ticket. The extra $1.50 will help defray PayPal expenses and the one-time ticket fee I have to pay when I buy the tickets.

I will need payment no later than June 24, 2005 at midnight if you want to guarantee a seat with the rest of the group!

My PayPal address is:

PMs have been sent.

Remember, we'll need to commit to TWENTY tickets in order to get the group price, so even if you don't plan on being at the game, let your friends know in case they want to join us on the discounted price.

If that were the case, it would surely be on the news looking a like a police chase. Now THAT would be hilarious!

Yeah, with the cop car up front and all of the other panthers following behind.

Nooooo thanks! I think I'll stick to the plan of bringing the 95 CVLX.

At this point, several people have contacted me by PM and told me that they will not be able to make the game. I only have about 8 commitments on the game tickets, and I need to have 20 in order to get the discounted price on the tickets. If I don't get 20 by the end of this week - and it's looking doubtful - then we'll have to reconsider our options.

Option A - Skip the game altogether.
Option B - Proceed as planned and buy tickets anyhow.
Option C - Do something else that afternoon/evening.

If we don't have that many people attending the game, I'd go for A or C.

A and C sound like the same thing to me.

Yeah if we don't have enough people don't worry about it was just an AL game.

Okay, I should clarify. These would be the options:

Option A - Skip the game & evening activities altogether.
Option B - Proceed as planned and buy tickets anyhow.
Option C - Do something else for the afternoon/evening.

It seems that the biggest problem with the game is the fact that it's later in the day (first pitch is at 7:05 p.m.) and a lot of people can't stay that late.

Any other ideas?

Dang that sucks. I hate to be one of the no-game goin people but I just went to a game recently so wasn't really interested in another one.

The only other idea I can think of for that night would be to go to one of those car gatherings that goes on in the area. It's usually full of punk kids and morons but sometimes they aren't. I will try and investigate the situation among my friends who frequent these gatherings to see what all is out there. If there are any that sound respectable I'll post back the info. These gatherings tend to dry up during the summer cuz it's just too damn hot to hang out, even at night after the suns gone down.

I think it would be hysterical to see the reaction when a caravan of "cop cars" come rollin in. The sound of 50 Honduh Civic's with their bumble bee fart can exhaust TRYING to tear out of their would be worth the effort.

From one of the members of www.mercurymarauder.net who posted a response to our Dallas meet:

"That happens to be the same weekend as the SVT show at Chuck's in Grapevine which is near Arlington. I'm sure the CV's & MM's would be welcome and there is an MM class at the show that could probably be expanded to include the CV's. The SVT Club is a friendly group. Registration from 5 to 7, show is over usually by 8:30.

The bad news is that the show is the same time as the ball game, but maybe some would rather enter a car show.

see www.svttexas.com for details about the show.

http://www.svttexas.com/index.php?src=events&srctype=profile&id=98

It starts at 5pm and there might be some interesting cars to look at. What do y'all think about that idea?
