Got the alt pulley on yesterday.
Me too. Of course mine had a brand new alternator behind it.
I was kind of irked when I fired it up and it seemed louder
than the old alternator. I was thinking about firing my mechanic.
Nothing to do but drive it. After about 10 miles it quieted down, Better than it had been. Couldn't hear it over the radio any more. Still there especially on start up and at idle. Another 15 mile drive this morning got rid of most of the noise, could still hear some when it dropped back down to idle. A 30 mile trip to a friends house for that second opinion seems to have cured that part too. Now I am back where I was before this whole episode started.
I'm guessing there was a break in period. Maybe the alternator had been sitting on the shelf for a while and just needed the grease to be warmed up.
Still haven't heard anything from the Quick Start people.
