I know I know, it's ANOTHER question about overhead consoles. But, when I searched, I didn't see this topic covered.

I'm about to be selling an overhead console from an LX Sport. But, as I was looking around I noticed that overhead consoles out of Lincoln Town Cars of the same era have some extra features.

It looks like there's some sort of a driver info center? Would that work on a pre-'05 car (without digital engine management)? It looks like there's a delphi module tucked in there.

Another note, TC overhead consoles are WAY cheaper than LXS/GMQ/MM consoles.

I think it's just the compass and home link. The one button is for park assist. The home link and maybe compass might work if you put power to it.

Crown Vic and Grand Marquis overhead consoles are just a compass, and optional HomeLink (garage door opener), Optional sunroof.

05 Towncar are compass, Oil change reminder, Optional HomeLink, and option reverse parking aide (radar beeper) disable (pictured), and Optional sunroof.

06+ Towncar are optional compass and optional HomeLink. Most 06+ do not have the console, as oil change reminder and optional compass were built into the cluster.

I haven't looked at any 04- Towncar OHC in detail.

I will add that the 05 Towncar OHC uses the same exact control/display board for all OHC, regardless of options. So the circuitry for sunroof and parking aid is there, even if the physical buttons are missing.
The Towncar OHC circuit board will fit in the vic/mgm OHC.

I have a 05 Towncar OHC swapped into a Vic long OHC in my 08 p71.
I only recently did the swap though, so still debating whether or not I'll be keeping it or swapping to the vic/mgm control board.
I wired up the parking aid and sunroof controls (though mine doesn't have the sunroof button) to be used for future mods.
The parking aid is a latching ground contact. There's also an input for an indicator light.
The sunroof are two momentary switches.
So both are easily converted to do whatever you want buttons for.

Note that the Towncar uses different connectors, and needs to be tied into the vehicles CANBUS circuit. I'm not sure how well swapping a 05+ Towncar console into a 04- panther would work, as 04- do not have CANBUS.
The Vic/MGM require a VSS signal.

Davidzq, what does the display in your Town Car OHC show? In my LXS it's only a compass.
Are they a direct swap (physically)? Does the TC console match the headliner contour?

Here's another one from ebay with all the bells and whistles:

Here's a picture of the Delphi module

The description for that part number says "sensor assembly". Would that be for the backup sensors?

The console displays a compass (written out NORTH, NORTHEAST, WEST, etc).
Pressing mode switches to Compass Calibration, pressing again brings you to Oil Life Monitor (percentage).
At 10%, the display will read "Change Oil Soon"
At 0%, "Change Oil Now".
So nothing too fancy...

The rear parking sensor uses it's own dedicated module located behind the rear bumper (I believe... I'd have to look through my books).
The OHC simply sends a kill signal (ground signal) to the park aid module.

Wow, that is underwhelming, lol.
What about fitment? Did you have to massage it to fit the CV headliner?

I believe the shells are different, but not by much.
The brackets are very different, as is the wiring.

I swapped the trim piece that surrounds the buttons and the circuitry into a long vic shell, that was a direct fit. All the screws for the circuit board lined up surprisingly, despite the two being completely different.
The connector for the map lights was also the same.
