Having a thought,

I know, I know, when I start thinking it could be Beating a dead horse. I have been noticing lately that my cats air compressor for the air suspension is sounding rather ratty. I am going to find out if maybe the rubber grommets that insulate the compressor have dried out. This won’t be hard to figure out, but the question being is replacing the air suspension on my sport and going with regular coil in the back. Wondering if I’m going to lose anything having regular coils. So. Oils v.s air suspension. Thoughts as to yes or no. All thoughts are definitely appreciated.

I like my soft OEM coils and just the Air Lifts to augment them if needed.

Just replace the compressor. They get rattly sounding (even more than normal) after a while.
Mine (a 2004 GMQ) got noisy enough to drive me batty, so I bought a replacement from JC Whitney, which was identical to the OEM unit, and it came with new rubber mounting bushings. I think it cost me about $100... but I picked it up in person at the warehouse in LaSalle, IL.
It still worked perfectly (and quietly) when I traded the car a year ago.

Definitely replace the compressor. I've used Arnott in the past but have heard Suncore is also good.

Darn those arnott compressors are not cheap. 300 sound high for compressor/dryer. Everything else is good. No other problems other than a ratty sounding compressor. Tomorrow will have a looksee at the rubber grommets. I’m betting they have seen better days.

Wow...didn't realise they had gone up to $300. When I bought the last one they were like $190.

If the compressor is sounding "ratty", it's likely in need of replacement. When the one in my ex's Marauder finally quit, I was appalled at its condition...looked like it had been salvaged from the Titanic. Be sure to drill some extra drain holes in the plastic tray the compressor sits in.

Got one last summer. Price has gone up about $10.

How much did you pay for your compressor if you don’t mind me asking.

I bought it from that same listing August 30 of last year. It was $184.99 then, plus tax, which brought it to just over $200.
