has anyone tried this and experience knock? I live about 30miles away from the only gas station that sells 93 octane, every place sells 92 octane.

I did it once when driving back from Wisconsin and not able to find 93. One tank only and I didn't hot-dog the car at all. Ran it almost bone dry and then filled with 93 at the next fillup. But it didn't ping under pretty much all highway conditions and no WOT.

If my daily reality was that 92 was readily available and 93 was not, I would re-flash with a 92 tune so I could drive the car like I wanted to, worry-free. That, or find a place that sells Cam 2 VP unleaded 100 or 104 from the pump, and splash some of that in with every fillup. Though there's only one of those vendors within a 5-mile radius of my house and I'm sure they're not super popular anywhere else.

Good to know it's safe for regular driving. Im gonna do a couple WOT runs tonight and report back. It has been pretty cold in the NW lately so hoping that will keep the knock at bay

You would probably reach the knock treshold if you were going back to 87 octane with a 93 tune but not going from 93 to 92.

Yeah, 93 to 92 sounds like "margin of error" territory to me. I wouldn't worry about it personally

Don't worry about it you'll be OK, your 2v is not really making a high compression to worry about. I can't remember where I was if in Wisconsin, Indiana or Michigan from IL and I was only able to pump 91* so I filled it up, nothing happened car performed the same.
if you are really worried buy some octane booster bottles at vatozone, that should help you just for the piece of mind.

edit... damn this post is old lol
