Car is a 1999 Vic previously owned by the U.S. Secret Service. I have an intermittent electrical problem involving the headlights, turn indicators, hazards, ABS lamp on the dash and hi-beam lamp on the dash. When driving, the ABS lamp will suddenly blink on for no apparent reason, and after several seconds or minutes, it blinks off. If that's the only thing that happens, there are no functional problems with the car that I can see and no computer codes indicating a problem with the ABS system. But the hi-beam lamp blinks often blinks on, and when it does the ABS lamp blinks off and the following happens: the headlights cut out and don't work, the turn signals stop working (although they sometimes turn on and stay on; but there's no blinking, no right/left), and the hazards don't work. When the hi-beam lamp blinks off, EVERYTHING RETURNS TO NORMAL. There are, again,
no codes in the computer indicating a problem with the ABS system; the LCM has been replaced twice; and the stick in the steering column has been replaced once.

I suspect this problem may have something to do with the wiring job the U.S. Secret Service did on the car. The job is still in the car, but I know nothing about it.

A possibly related problem is that the left, front caliper is now binding intermittently, although not often, around the same time the problem above occurs.

Any ideas?

I don't see how your caliper issue would have anything to do with an electrical problem--it's hydraulic not electrical.

And I can about guarantee your light problem is directly related to what was done to provision additional lamps on the outside of the car. Time to go through the lamp wiring harnesses.
