Hello everyone smile
I'm new to this forum, but my, ours, adventure with Vicky (birth 11/2008) started in 2016. Then, at the urging of a colleague, with some degree of uncertainty, I purchased a black and white CVPI from the California Highway Patrol from a CHP officer. The CVPI ran 185,000 miles and was reasonably well maintained. The CHP officer used it in the last six months before my purchase.
I kept the appearance of Vicky in its original condition with push bar, no problem in Europe driving in CHP painting, I just had to repaint the door and roof because CHP painted the white door black before sale ☹ I have Vector light bar and siren also, but can't drive with the on public road :-(
My family, wife and son, at first reluctantly and distrustfully looked at the car, bought not necessarily with their consent ... especially for them, I replaced the rear seat backrest to Lincoln versions, with an armrest, so that they would be more comfortable.
But they changed their mind after a holiday trip to Italy in 2017. They became convinced of Vicky, the comfort, driving comfort and smiles on the faces of the people they meet 😊 People they meet react very positively, drivers showed OK through the windows, and Italians react very lively to such a car, they are curious about cars, they ask questions, take photos, in Italy my wife said she only needed the red carpet for all these photos ... 😉
At the Ferrari factory in Maranello, people were more interested in our Vicky than in the luxury Ferraris driving around the area 😉
On the Italian highway we met a surprised officer from San Francisco, surprised by the original California Highway Patrol car driving on the roads ...
Initially, we used the Vicky as an additional car, but in 2018 we sold the family Skoda and Vicky became our family car. For everyday driving, weekend trips, holidays.
Of course, it has its weaknesses, it's very loud at higher speeds - by the way, do you have any ways to do that? In summer, the heat from the engine section radiates down my legs and setting the airflow on the floor is not enough ...
Sometimes it surprises with breakdowns, like during the Balkan holidays in 2019, it blew a spark plug in Croatia, but this fault was caused by a bad repair still in the USA, the thread was badly repaired, probably when worshop replaced spark plugs ...
I repaired the first such broken and badly repaired thread right after the purchase, because CVPI had a missfire on one cylinder, and
the second failure for this reason, but it happened on a different cylinder was on vacation ... 😉 And as it usually happens, on Saturday night on the highway on the way home ...
It was necessary to tow to the booked hotel in Zagreb (we missed 80 km to reach it) and to extend the vacation, it was not possible to return to work on Monday morning ...
But we treated it as an additional holiday adventure, because why spoil a nice time. Thanks to the help of random mechanics, we were able to reach the workshop on 7 cylinders, mechanic repaired the defect on an ad hoc basis WITHOUT TAKING ANY MONEY FOR IT which allowed us to drive 900 km home ...
But all these disadvantages Vicky rewards with her universality, versatility and the smiles of the people we meets.
Once, during our holidays in Poland, we saw a Sherman tank going for a D-Day reconstruction :-)

Last year I bought another CVPI (birth 11/2010), this time from Georgia, from Police Fayetteville, with a small mileage of 99,000 miles 😊, which I am going to drive for the next years, I have some ideas that I will want to implement with it, a few places to visit, maybe with time enough photos for a nice calendar, etc ...
For now, I started preparing a new CVPI for driving, I set up an LPG installation to save on fuel expenses, LPG costs 2 times less than gasoline.
I took everything out, washed the armchairs, dampened the floor and bulkhead walls with special mats, we'll see what effect it will bring ...
Now they have to go to the paint sprayer to make it look like the current California Highway Patrol 😊
For now I have to replace or regenerate the steering gear, because it is leaking oil - are there any repair kits for 2008-2011 years, I found only for older models ???
I found this forum in the meantime and I can see that there is a lot of knowledge here that I can use and many good people helping with their knowledge and skills.
I hope that I will also be able to serve you with my knowledge 😊
Best regards from Poland, from Krakow 😊
Michal

I have a very good engine specialist, I didn't ask for details, but the engine head was still in good condition, did not require removal.

Can't you see pictures from google???

Awesome! I'm always fascinated by our international neighbors that drive around with their vics as US police car replicas.

What type of vehicles do the Policja drive?

In Europe, Crown Victoria attracts attention as the same, and in police painting several times more ...
Polish police drive various ordinary cars manufactured in Europe, mainly KIA, OPEL, BMW - to traffic offenders...

It looks much better with push bar and it is safer, but it's not 100% legal ;-)
It is explained that it is original American equipment...
