Hello all, I have a 2000 CVPI with 120K miles. It drives perfectly fine besides two things.
Whenever I turn it on in the morning, or after it has sat for about half an hour after parking it, it will stall if I shift into reverse too soon. I have to wait about 5-10 seconds or give it a little gas to increase RPMs. It hasn't outright refused to drive in reverse, just takes a few tries sometimes to back out of a space. Could be related to airflow?
The other issue, is that whenever I give it gas and it downshifts/gets to higher RPMs, whenever I let off the gas or slow down it holds the gear and won't upshift sometimes. (Holds 2nd gear at 4-5 RPM for example when it should shift into 3rd) The fluid looks perfect, so I'm thinking it's related to a solenoid(s) maybe?
The car sat in a garage for 2 years undriven before I got it. I haven't had any other issues, it drives like a champ.
