Description
My '01 had horribly glazed headlights. Even Mother's system didn't help much. Picked up a couple new ones from Amazon.

See, new headlights make a car look 10 years newer!! Looks great, and they are cheap, so not a hard hit on the wallet! Then again, if your dumb enough to buy OEM and pay the price, that's your fault!

^^ What Steveboos said. It really does make your car look way newer. How much did the new headlamps run you if you don't mind me asking?

Yeah this is normal, I paid $64 shipped WITH bulbs, so i was happy. I've had them for a year now and they still look new. The picture in my signature was taken last week.

Has anyone ever tried using toilet bowl cleaner? I heard that worked, back from the days of people trying to restore sun faded lightbar lenses and domes. I heard some success stories with using the toilet bowl cleaner on the lexan plastic.

Don't know about toilet cleaner, maybe the scouring kind of powder might. I know we used to clean plastic lenses on old motorcycles with toothpaste (the kind with a little polishing paste in it).

Toilet bowl cleaner is slightly abrasive, so it will clean them to some extend. But unless you actually polish the lens, then buff it, you will never get perfectly clear headlights. Even still they will fog up again fairly quickly. So i would just buy a pair of aftermarket ones and enjoy how good your car looks!

FWIW I've had great results with that Turtle Wax headlight restore kit. When I bought the car last year my driver's side light especially was pretty faded. The kit comes with sanding pads to remove the yellowing, but the most important part is really buffing the [censored] out of it with the polishing compound. They still look brand new a year later.

looks a lot better but get the corners too. I just bought a set of corners and headlights on ebay for $69.00 shipped for all 4 pieces with headlight bulbs. (Non OEM of course)

Even if you tried a restore kit nothing beats the crisp clear look of new enclosures. Looks great plus the vic needs all the help it can get when it comes to lighting the road at night.

You should search the Body and Interior section of this site. There are many posts about it.
