I personally wouldn't have done a total conversion from a MGM to a CVPI, but it looks like you've done a really thorough job. If I didn't know better I couldn't tell the difference.

That's exactly what I was aiming for. It's a complete conversion, and the transformation process was outlined in the member's rides section a few months ago.
As for the black trim on the bumpers, I just used electrical tape two days ago. The bumpers have chrome trim. I suppose plasti-dip would be much better and still not fully permanent. Just trying to see what it would look like without making a permanent change.
Not really sure If I want to remove the chrome trim entirely or not. I'll probably just leave it. I'm sure it would be a pain in the arse to remove all of that double-sided adhesive tape in that small channel which attaches the trim to the bumper covers.

It is.

I'm sure it would be a pain in the arse to remove all of that double-sided adhesive tape in that small channel which attaches the trim to the bumper covers. Plastidip works great, it won't flake off like regular spray paint and it can easily be removed if you change your mind. And at $6-7 a can it's not expensive either. I would personally try to remove the trim altogether for a cleaner look like the CVs of most recent years, not to mention it would match regardless of what grille or rear fascia you have on. But then again, I hear removing that adhesive can be a real pain in the rear without the right tools.

I have a heat gun so I'm assuming it would come off somewhat easier than without. But I always end up burning my fingers.
But when I feel like running full wheel covers with a chrome grill and chrome trunk fascia, I can remove the tape.
The bad thing about electrical tape is, it has shrunk and now the ends of the chrome are sticking out once again.
By the way, I know the bumper covers with the chrome or black trim have "holes" at the ends of the center channel. There are body-color caps that you can stick in the holes if the car does not have trim.
However, on the cars that do not have these holes, is the channel more shallow?
The chrome trim is pretty thick and it seems as if the channel is deeper than on the cars without trim. Did they make two different bumper covers?

The chrome on silver really blends together. The chrome is really only noticeable on dark colored cars. I was looking at another picture. I think the bumper covers without the holes for the trim are definitely shallower. Maybe it is a year-change. The older bumpers either had trim, or caps to fill the holes, and a deeper channel. Whereas the new cars have a shallow channel with no holes. This is Rubbergash's car. Look how shallow that channel is. His is an 01. http://i880.photobucket.com/albums/ac8/rubbergash/viclights1.jpg My car is an 01 but has 98 bumper covers on it.

Ive looked over a few pics, while I never noticed I suppose you are right. It is quite minimal. That is drastic, I would guess it's an aftermarket replacement.

I will have to pay closer attention. Don't see very many of these cars around anymore, though. More Grand Marquis than anything, for 03+. As for 98-02 I would have to say there are more Crown Victorias in the hands of civilian ownership.
