2006 LX Sport
This is how it showed up when the long haul trucker and I drove it to our house. The dealer in Florida obviously used us as advertising while it waited for transport. lol

I honestly don't understand..

This is the 2nd white sport I see on this site and both don't have body trims painted body color. Is it possibly that someone just added sport wheels and sport interior?

Give me the VIN, I'll pull the build sheet and verify it's an actual sport.
The door handles, grill, and taillight trim usually match body color on sports.
Sport interior swaps are pretty common.

Whitey still had its window sticker when I took delivery of it. And that sticker says that it is an LX Sport, but that it was special ordered to have the mirrors with black caps:
Whitey's window sticker

The Carfax report I did prior to buying it stated LX Sport too, for what that's worth. That report also indicated that it had minor front end damage at one point, so my guess all along has been that someone replaced the body-colored front grill with a standard LX one. Perhaps I'll lookup the VIN and send it to David via PM for verification. What the heck, why not? laugh

ps-ford05, I think that both white LX Sports that you've seen on CVN might actually be the same vehicle, mine. laugh Not certain, but possible. lol

Wouldn't it be way easier to switch mirror caps than switch wheels and an interior !?

Sent Whitey's VIN to David in confidence so that he can pull a build sheet. We'll see what it turns up and if it is different from what the window sticker and Carfax say Whitey is...

Nah, I wish. There are a couple of rough areas on the trunk lid. Other than that it's good.

If the window sticker says it's an LX Sport... it's an LX Sport. Not like they got it wrong at the factory and put LX sport package on a P71.

I was simply saying that changing mirror caps probably takes like 5 minutes versus changing out an entire set of wheels and interior. It's more likely the mirror caps got switched than interior and rims. (I'm aware your car was ordered with black caps)

Yeah I agree. That has always been my thought. Still it would be interesting to see what David turns up if he is so kind as to check on it, so why not?

Quite true, and I wasn't disputing that. Didn't intend for it to come across that way.

BTW, a true LX Sport will have a modified tranny tunnel that contains support dowels for the center console. Thus by merely removing the front seat and lifting the carpet a bit, you could readily discern whether or not it was the real McCoy. Assuming of course that someone didn't go to the trouble of replicating those supports, which would seem crazily unlikely. laugh

Well David confirmed that Whitey is an LX Sport.

Thank you again David!

Oh sure, you're correct. Folk were just saying that you can have an LX (or a CVPI for that matter) but swap in a center console with the shifter. I felt confident that Whitey was an LX Sport from the factory and David confirmed that.

My window sticker, build sheet, and Marti Report have resolved many a discussion over the years for me. Primarily the fact that I have the digital dash.

Nah it's all good. I was agreeing with you. Either way, more verification could never hurt. If something did come back and say it wasn't I'd still be more inclined to believe the window sticker.. as well as the carfax too. I'd rely on the Carfax because The CF takes the VIN Information directly from the DMV so unless VIN's were switched, (which they probably never would be on a panther, not like it's a collector car) the CarFax is going to tell you exactly what it is. I'd believe the window sticker for.. obvious reasons.

Shame it even has to come to that, though. Don't you love it when someone tries to tell you what kind of car you have !?
