2006 LX Sport
This is how it showed up when the long haul trucker and I drove it to our house. The dealer in Florida obviously used us as advertising while it waited for transport. lol

My window sticker, build sheet, and Marti Report have resolved many a discussion over the years for me. Primarily the fact that I have the digital dash.

Shame it even has to come to that, though. Don't you love it when someone tries to tell you what kind of car you have !?

Yes, it seems like I come across at least 1 or 2 Crown Vic authorities every summer. The digital dash seems to generate the most suspicion though. I guess it's probably because they seemed to be more prevalent in the GM's.

Strange that it would make people question if it was actually an LX sport. IMO, the digital dash almost seems natural for an LX Sport. Frankly, I don't think any LX sport or special package panther should have come without a digital dash.

As long as you could still get manual AC etc...

But I'm a softie for digi dashes.

I really wish the Grand Marquis LSE’s had come with the digi dash. Manual HVAC controls or not you still have that pesky blend door actuator either way. Only 1 of the 5 panthers I’ve owned had manual controls. I much prefer the auto climate control. And I love my steering wheel controls because I’m lazy.

Yeah I'll admit that the HVAC auto control found in both Whitey and Ol' Blue is an attractive feature. Since Whitey is the wife's daily, I don't drive it that much; but when I do, I find myself playing with those control settings more often that I'd think I would. laugh

I tell myself that I am doing it merely to verify its function for the wife-eee, but the reality is more likely that I just enjoy playing with them.

I try to avoid unnecessary temp adjustment with my EATC, because I don't really want to do a BDA job again. 60 in the summer, 70 in the winter. That's about it.

I can understand why someone wouldn't want to do that job more than once. But doing it through the passenger airbag like I did wasn't horrible just time consuming. Considering the original part made it 18 years and I replaced it with a motorcraft BDA I doubt I'll ever have to do it again. I have no expectaions of this car lasting another 18 years. Five is all I ask and I've yet to have a car do that. I've had one fatal engine failure and 4 accidents caused by other idiots. My '95 GMQ is kind of a toss up, other driver got cited but my insurance said I was at fault. I was stopped turning into my driveway with my turn signal on and he rear ended me at 70mph! How insurance found me at fault I don't know, I only had state minimum so fighting it would do nothing. I simply changed companies.

I also went through the airbag, but it was an annoying job.

The worst part IMO was getting the passenger vent duct back in as I have huge hands. Getting the BDA out wasn't exactly enjoyable either.
