No the reason i said this is because you were considering so many mods maybe rear disc brakes etc. Also the cost of Surface preparations then it would still neep powder coating.
I thought using a late CV say a taxi you would get all modern mechanics but with the boxy shell. That way you would get best of both worlds.
The taxi i got was $1000and only 3 1/2 years old Mechanically it were fine many new bits but the body was battered. The chassis frame were like new.
Either way im sure it will look good. I remember seeing your Camaro at Menwith Hill i were in the Caprice cop car.
By the way if you get bored you can do the Caprice up next if you wish
