Hello everyone.

Im new to this forum so if this isn't the place to post this, please correct me.

Anyway, I have a 2000 Crown Victoria P71, and few days ago the tumbler connected to my ignition cylinder in my steering column broke, so I had to replace the entire steering column. Unfortunately the only parts I could find in any local junkyard was a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis. It fit properly and everything works, except my airbag light will blink a few times, then stay on. It seemed to blink 1 time, pause, then 3 blinks. I believe this means the airbag is shorted straight to ground. It seems the connector on my new steering column aren't the same as the original Ford airbag so I can't place the Ford airbag back into the new wheel. Do you think the airbag will still work or should I disconnect it so it doesn't blow up on me randomly?

Thank you for your thoughts,
Lizzies
